內容概要

本教材首先是緊扣最新變化，無論是閱讀篇幅還是題型都嚴格按最新大學英語四級考試要求編寫。其次是選材多樣，內容新穎，信息量大，所選短文全部是近兩年英美正式發(fā)表的，以介紹英美社會、人文、習俗等背景知識為主，每單元以一個話題為中心。本書的編寫宗旨不以應試為目的，而在于給學生提供高質量的英語閱讀文章，使學生在愉快的閱讀中欣賞美文，開闊視野，并在不知不覺中掌握閱讀技能，尤其是快速閱讀技能。最后，本教材適合于課堂和自學兩種教學模式。每單元由四篇文章組成，前兩篇為課內閱讀，由教師按規(guī)定的時間安排隨堂練習，有計劃、有步驟地培養(yǎng)學生的閱讀技能；后兩篇文章為課后閱讀，可作為課后作業(yè)和學生自主學習的材料，進一步強化和鞏固課內所學的知識。
