前言

  隨著我國對外開放力度的不斷加強(qiáng),經(jīng)濟(jì)領(lǐng)域的各條戰(zhàn)線對復(fù)合型的外貿(mào)人才提出了更高的要求。對于高等院校的外貿(mào)英語專業(yè),教材建設(shè)成了當(dāng)務(wù)之急?!锻赓Q(mào)英語》一書是根據(jù)浙江省重點(diǎn)教材建設(shè)的立項(xiàng)計(jì)劃而組織編寫的,并榮獲了寧波市政府教學(xué)成果一等獎,其第一版已被多所高等院校采用作為教材,反響較好。隨著中國加入WT0,我國的外貿(mào)形勢發(fā)生了重大變化,為了緊跟上對外貿(mào)易的發(fā)展與變化,特對原教材進(jìn)行修訂并改版?! ∪珪?4篇精讀和6篇補(bǔ)充讀物組成。每課除課文外,還包括詞匯與短語、課文注釋、詞匯學(xué)習(xí)、語法與用法點(diǎn)評、練習(xí)以及補(bǔ)充閱讀材料等?! ”窘滩膬?nèi)容豐富,語言規(guī)范,注釋詳盡,特色明顯。書中所有課文及補(bǔ)充閱讀材料均選自英語原著,內(nèi)容涉及國際貿(mào)易、市場營銷、金融、保險(xiǎn)、稅收等領(lǐng)域。其中注釋部分大都參照國內(nèi)外權(quán)威的參考書和詞典,而且許多地方采用英漢雙解注釋,并附有大量例句,力求簡潔準(zhǔn)確。本書的最大特色在于詞匯學(xué)習(xí)和語法與用法的點(diǎn)評兩部分。詞匯學(xué)習(xí)部分有助于學(xué)生掌握重點(diǎn)詞匯的一般用法和商務(wù)用法,而語法與用法點(diǎn)評部分則針對課文中出現(xiàn)的一些語言現(xiàn)象進(jìn)行概括性的評述,以加強(qiáng)學(xué)生的英語語言基礎(chǔ)。

  Most-favoured-nation (MFN) : treating other people equally Under the WTO agreements, countries cannot normally discriminatebetween their trading partners. Grant someone a special favoursuch as a lower customs duty rate for one of their products and youhave to do the same for all other WTO members. This principle isknown as most-favoured-nation (MFN) treatment. It is so important that it is the first article of the General Agreement on Tariffsand Trade (GATT), which governs trade in goods. MFN is also apriority in the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS)and the Agreement on Trade-related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS), although in each agreement the principle ishandled slightly differently. Together, those three agreements cover all three main areas of trade handled by the WTO. Some exceptions are allowed. For example, countries can set up a free tradeagreement that applies only to goods traded within the group——discriminating against goods from outside.
