CH'NG Poh Tiong is a lawyer by training.
He writes, since 1998, the oldest, continuous wine column in Chinese in the world in Singapore's largest circulation Chinese newspaper, the Lianhe Zaobao. Ch'ng has also been pairing wine with Chinese cuisine since he starting drinking wine nearly 40 years ago.
Ch'ng Poh Tiong is publisher of The Wine Review, since 1991, the oldest wine publication in South-East Asia, Hong Kong and China. He also publishes, since 2000, the world's first "Guide to Bordeaux in Chinese".
Ch'ng also writes a quarterly column for the United Kingdom's Decanter magazine.
Ch'ng Poh Tiong is founder of ICCCW, the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine. The inaugural congress was held in Beijing in 2008; Singapore in 2009; and, is scheduled for Hong Kong in November 2010 (www.icccw.com).
Ch'ng is also publisher of www.chinesebordeauxguide.com, the world's first bi-lingual Chinese/English website on Bordeaux wine. In November 2010, he will be launching www.vinovideos.com, the world's first website devoted to wine videos with English/Chinese content and subtitles. The site will itself also launch wine training videos in Chinese under "學(xué)酒", and in English under "Wine School".
In his work as a journalist, Ch'ng visits Bordeaux four or five times a year. He first journeyed to China in 1988 and, since the last few years, visits a dozen or more times annually.
Ch'ng Poh Tiong's paternal and maternal ancestral homes are Fujian and Guangdong respectively.

莊布忠是名律師。
1998年，莊布忠就開始為新加坡第一大華文日報《聯(lián)合早報》寫評酒專欄，這也是全球最早的一個中文評酒專欄。擁有40年品嘗美酒的經(jīng)驗，他一直都在為中國美食尋找適合的葡萄酒，配搭成完美的美酒佳肴組合。
1991年，莊布忠出版了東南亞、香港和中國等地歷史最悠久及備受認(rèn)可的葡萄酒雜志《葡萄酒評論》。自2000年以來，他又出版了全球第一本中文版《波爾多葡萄酒概覽》年刊。
莊布忠也定期為英國《移注瓶雜志》(Decanter)撰寫專欄。
此外，莊布忠也創(chuàng)辦了中餐與葡萄酒國際會議（ICCCW，the International Congress of Chinese Cuisine & Wine），并于2008年及2009年，分別在中國和新加坡主持了國際會議。2010年度的中餐與葡萄酒國際會議將于11月在香港舉行（www.icccw.com）。
與此同時，莊布忠也是 www.chinesebordeauxguide.com 的出版人，該網(wǎng)站是全球首個關(guān)于波爾多酒的中英雙語網(wǎng)站。2010年11月，莊布忠即將推出 www.vinovideos.com，這是全球首個專門上載葡萄酒相關(guān)中英文視頻的網(wǎng)站，視頻將附上字幕。該網(wǎng)站也將分別以“學(xué)酒”以及“Wine School”為名，推出與葡萄酒有關(guān)的中英文培訓(xùn)視頻。
身為一名記者，莊布忠周游列國尋訪酒鄉(xiāng)，包括每年到訪波爾多（Bordeaux）四、五次。他在1988年第一次踏足中國，并在過去數(shù)年里，每年重游該國至少10多次。
莊布忠的父母祖籍分別是福建和廣東。
