前言

近年來隨著高教自考和成人本科畢業(yè)生的劇增，越來越多的考生參加到申請學(xué)士學(xué)位的英語考試中來。為了讓考生熟悉成入高等教育學(xué)士學(xué)位英語水平考試的特點，充分做好應(yīng)試準(zhǔn)備，我們組織了部分具有豐富應(yīng)試指導(dǎo)經(jīng)驗和長期從事學(xué)士學(xué)位英語一線教學(xué)輔導(dǎo)的教師編寫了這本試題集，以便幫助考生在復(fù)習(xí)過程中，抓住復(fù)習(xí)的重點和難點，在較短時間內(nèi)盡快強化自己的英語能力，順利通過學(xué)士學(xué)位英語水平考試。本書嚴(yán)格按照《成人高等教育學(xué)士學(xué)位英語水平考試大綱（非英語專業(yè)）》提出的課程要求，并參照廣東省成人學(xué)士學(xué)位英語考試樣題，在概括了成人高等教育學(xué)士學(xué)位英語水平考試的重點之后，設(shè)計了12套模擬題。每套試題均配有詳盡、透徹、準(zhǔn)確的解析，不僅便于考生自學(xué)自測，而且能夠幫助考生達到觸類旁通、舉一反三的學(xué)習(xí)效果，使考生在強化訓(xùn)練的過程中，學(xué)習(xí)和掌握相關(guān)的解題策略，提高應(yīng)試能力。本書在編寫過程中參考了部分國內(nèi)外有關(guān)資料，在此謹(jǐn)向有關(guān)作者表示衷心的感謝！另外，本書編輯在試題編寫過程中付出了大量艱辛的勞動，在此一并表示感謝！

作者簡介

申玉杰，博士，1966年出生，1984年9月考入第一軍醫(yī)大學(xué)臨床醫(yī)學(xué)系，后獲武漢大學(xué)軟件工程碩士、南方醫(yī)科大學(xué)流行病與衛(wèi)生統(tǒng)計學(xué)博士，現(xiàn)任南方醫(yī)科大學(xué)繼續(xù)教育學(xué)院院長。申玉杰院長先后被推選為國家教育部本科評估專家、國家衛(wèi)生部醫(yī)學(xué)遠(yuǎn)程教育制度的研究及機構(gòu)準(zhǔn)入評估專家、中華醫(yī)學(xué)會成人教育學(xué)組組長、中華醫(yī)學(xué)會醫(yī)學(xué)教育中青年專家、廣東省畢業(yè)后教育委員會委員等，參與國家及省里有關(guān)政策的起草和制訂、工作檢查、評審等工作，參加國家教育部、衛(wèi)生部及校內(nèi)有關(guān)教材的編寫工作。目前，承擔(dān)國家教育部、衛(wèi)生部，中國高等醫(yī)學(xué)教育學(xué)會，中華醫(yī)學(xué)會，廣東省教育廳、衛(wèi)生廳等省級以上科研課題9項，先后撰寫10余篇學(xué)術(shù)論文。唐偉勝，博士，教授。畢業(yè)于北京語言大學(xué)，獲文學(xué)博士學(xué)位。2006年9月一2008年8月受國家留學(xué)基金委資助在美國俄亥俄州立大學(xué)（Ohio State University）英語系訪學(xué)，成為該系的“敘事項目”（Project Narrative）研究成員之一?，F(xiàn)任南方醫(yī)科大學(xué)外國語學(xué)院英語語言文學(xué)教授，中國敘事學(xué)會會員。在《外國文學(xué)評論》、《文學(xué)理論前沿》等10余本刊物上發(fā)表學(xué)術(shù)論文40余篇，出版專著2部，譯著3部，編著1部。主持國家社會科學(xué)基金、教育部人文社會科學(xué)規(guī)劃項目、省級社會科學(xué)基金等各類科研項目6項，主研1項。2003年獲重慶市教育委員中青年教師資助項目，2004年獲重慶市首批“高校優(yōu)秀中青年骨干教師”榮譽稱號。唐偉勝教授在國內(nèi)知名大學(xué)及各頂級培訓(xùn)機構(gòu)從事英語教學(xué)和培訓(xùn)研究工作近20年。培訓(xùn)學(xué)員逾萬人，出版或編寫各類教學(xué)和培訓(xùn)資料100余種，擁有豐富的英語教學(xué)和培訓(xùn)經(jīng)驗，是“學(xué)術(shù)、激情、幽默”英語學(xué)習(xí)理念的積極倡導(dǎo)者和實踐者。

The basic flag of the United States is one of the world's oldest national flags. Only the basic of Austria，Denmark，Great Britain，the Netherlands，Sweden，and Switzerland are older.  During the discovery and settlement of what is now the United States，the flags of various European nations were flown over the land，as symbols of possession. Later, in the colonial and Revolutionary War periods，flags representing famous persons，places，and events were flown in the American Colonies.  The first official flag of the United States was created by Congress on June 14，1777.It consisted of 13 alternate red and white stripes and 13 white stars in a field of blue，representing the 13 colonies that had declared their independence in 1776.Congress adopted a new flag of 15 stars and 15 stripes in1795，to give representation to the two new states admitted into the Union，Vermont and Kentucky.  By 1817，there were 20 states in the Union，and it became apparent that adding one stripe for each new state would destroy the shape of the flag. As a result，Congress in 1818restored the original design of 13 stripes and provided that each state was to be represented by one star. In 1912 President William H. Taft made the first official provision for the arrangement of the stars. He ordered that there be six even（均等的）rows of eight stars each. Previously the arrangement of the stars had been left to the flag maker's desire. The evolution on the stars and stripes reflects the growth of the United States. Mterthe admission of Hawaii into the Union in 1 956，the flag was officially changed for the 26'h time sinceits creation. There are many government flags flown in the United States in addition to the national flag. Among them are the president's and vice-president's flag and those of the federal departments and some federal agencies.
