前言

中國(guó)是一個(gè)有著幾千年文明史的國(guó)家,中國(guó)人在哲學(xué)、歷史、倫理、文學(xué)、天文、算學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)等領(lǐng)域的研究都有悠久的歷史,形成了自己獨(dú)特的學(xué)術(shù)傳統(tǒng)。但是到了近代卻在對(duì)自然界和人類社會(huì)的研究方面長(zhǎng)期閉關(guān)自守,裹足不前,最后古老的中國(guó)終于敗在西方國(guó)家的“堅(jiān)船利炮”之下。被一連串失敗震動(dòng)了的中國(guó)人,開(kāi)始仿照西方國(guó)家開(kāi)辦新式學(xué)校,講授西方的各種學(xué)科知識(shí)。發(fā)源于西方社會(huì)的自然科學(xué)、社會(huì)科學(xué)、人文科學(xué)、醫(yī)學(xué)、工程學(xué)等開(kāi)始進(jìn)入中國(guó)學(xué)校的講堂。這些變化使中國(guó)進(jìn)入了一個(gè)新的時(shí)代,與世界接軌的時(shí)代,改變了中國(guó)的教育體系,改變了中國(guó)人的知識(shí)結(jié)構(gòu),也改變了中國(guó)人的思想觀念。進(jìn)入2l世紀(jì)之后,世界各國(guó)之間依然存在激烈的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。對(duì)于中國(guó)來(lái)說(shuō),與西方發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家競(jìng)爭(zhēng)的激烈程度絲毫不遜于近代史上的任何時(shí)期。當(dāng)年落后的中國(guó)敗于“鴉片戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)”,敗于“甲午海戰(zhàn)”,當(dāng)年內(nèi)部分裂的中國(guó)在日寇進(jìn)攻下一度失去了半壁江山,面臨民族存亡的危機(jī)。中華人民共和國(guó)的建立使得中國(guó)人團(tuán)結(jié)起來(lái)了,在政治上站起來(lái)了,但是必須承認(rèn),我們?cè)诳茖W(xué)技術(shù)、社會(huì)科學(xué)、經(jīng)濟(jì)建設(shè)等不少方面仍然遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)落在西方發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家的后面。要想讓中國(guó)人真正站起來(lái),就必須使中國(guó)人在科技、教育等各個(gè)方面趕上西方發(fā)達(dá)國(guó)家。也正是在這樣的形勢(shì)下,黨中央提出了“科教興國(guó)”的策略。一個(gè)國(guó)家如果沒(méi)有真正先進(jìn)的教育,就不可能有高素質(zhì)的國(guó)民,不可能產(chǎn)生先進(jìn)的科學(xué)技術(shù),不可能發(fā)展強(qiáng)大的經(jīng)濟(jì)。當(dāng)代社會(huì)財(cái)富的增值主要來(lái)自技術(shù)的創(chuàng)新,而技術(shù)的創(chuàng)新來(lái)自基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)的創(chuàng)新,基礎(chǔ)科學(xué)的創(chuàng)新人才又來(lái)自我們的學(xué)校教育。一個(gè)真正強(qiáng)大的國(guó)家,不僅要有先進(jìn)的自然科學(xué)與工程技術(shù),也必須發(fā)展出先進(jìn)的人文學(xué)科和社會(huì)科學(xué)。人是社會(huì)的動(dòng)物,不把社會(huì)的基本結(jié)構(gòu)、組織形式、運(yùn)行機(jī)制研究清楚,不培養(yǎng)和造就高素質(zhì)的國(guó)民,我們?cè)趺慈ソM織和管理這個(gè)社會(huì)包括它的經(jīng)濟(jì)活動(dòng)呢?
