內(nèi)容概要

　　本教材是根據(jù)教育部高等學(xué)校外語(yǔ)專業(yè)教學(xué)指導(dǎo)委員會(huì)英語(yǔ)組制訂的《英語(yǔ)教學(xué)大綱》（2000年4月修訂）編寫的英語(yǔ)專業(yè)閱讀教材。全書共兩冊(cè)，20章，按題材分為：論閱讀、大自然、人、個(gè)人與社會(huì)、文化、藝術(shù)、心理學(xué)、科學(xué)與技術(shù)、經(jīng)濟(jì)與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)、歷史、教育、語(yǔ)言、男人與女人、政治、環(huán)境保護(hù)、媒體、人物傳記、宗教、論死亡。每章含4～5篇文章，既有論說(shuō)文，又有短篇小說(shuō)、戲劇和詩(shī)歌。本教材適合青年教師、研究生、英語(yǔ)專業(yè)高年級(jí)學(xué)生使用，將給使用者語(yǔ)言質(zhì)量的提高、視野的開(kāi)拓、思辨能力的增強(qiáng)以及綜合素質(zhì)的培養(yǎng)提供較大幫助。
