翻譯研究

前言

　　上海外語(yǔ)教育出版社從成立以來(lái)一直是我國(guó)外語(yǔ)教育最優(yōu)秀的后勤部和偵調(diào)部。因?yàn)樗坏珵槲覈?guó)各個(gè)層次（尤其本科與研究生層次）的外語(yǔ)教育提供了多種高水平的教材、教參和工具書(shū)，而且還出版了多學(xué)科、多語(yǔ)種和多系列的中文版和外文版的學(xué)術(shù)著作，比如“現(xiàn)代語(yǔ)言學(xué)叢書(shū)”、“牛津應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)叢書(shū)”、“美國(guó)文學(xué)史論譯叢”、“外國(guó)文學(xué)史叢書(shū)”、“劍橋文學(xué)指南叢書(shū)”、“當(dāng)代英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言學(xué)叢書(shū)”以及列入國(guó)家及教育部規(guī)劃的人文社科重點(diǎn)項(xiàng)目的外國(guó)語(yǔ)言文學(xué)、文化等方面的圖書(shū)等。為了適應(yīng)我國(guó)現(xiàn)代化建設(shè)和教育改革的需要，還出版了一批國(guó)際金融、對(duì)外貿(mào)易、涉外保險(xiǎn)、國(guó)際經(jīng)濟(jì)法、國(guó)際新聞和管理科學(xué)等方面的教材與專著。這些著作在外語(yǔ)的學(xué)科建設(shè)與學(xué)術(shù)研究以及復(fù)合型人才培養(yǎng)等方面都在發(fā)揮著強(qiáng)有力的偵察、調(diào)研和指導(dǎo)作用。這是外語(yǔ)界有口皆碑的。

內(nèi)容概要

本書(shū)總結(jié)了蘇珊·巴斯內(nèi)特翻譯研究的主要思想。作者通過(guò)對(duì)翻譯中意義的分析、不可譯性、等值論等中心問(wèn)題的剖析，追溯了翻譯理論發(fā)展的歷史，闡述了詩(shī)歌、小說(shuō)及戲劇翻譯的具體問(wèn)題。界定了翻譯研究作為一門(mén)獨(dú)立學(xué)科的基本研究范疇。　　該書(shū)初版于1980年，之后分別于1 991年和2000年再版，廣為流傳，成為英語(yǔ)國(guó)家翻譯教學(xué)的入門(mén)教材。

作者簡(jiǎn)介

蘇珊·巴斯內(nèi)特，英國(guó)沃里克大學(xué)（University of Warwick）資深教授，曾任該校副校長(zhǎng)，原翻譯與比較文化研究中心主任。著作包括《翻譯研究》（Translation Studies）、《比較文學(xué)批評(píng)導(dǎo)論》（Comparative Literature：A Critical Introduction）以及與安德烈·勒菲弗爾合作的《文化構(gòu)建：文學(xué)翻譯論集》（Constructing Cultures：Essays on Literary Translation）等20余部。

　　Evidence of the interest in translation is everywhere. A great many books on translation have appeared steadily throughout the past two decades, new journals of translation studies have been established, international professional bodies such as the European Society for Translation have come into being and at least half a dozen translation encyclopaedias have appeared in print, with more to follow. New courses on translation in universities from Hong Kong to Brazil, and from Montreal to Vienna offer further evidence of extensive inter- national interest in translation studies. It shows no sign of slowing down in the twenty-first century.　　With so much energy directed at further investigation of the phenomenon of translation, it is obvious that any such development will not be homogeneous and that different trends and tendencies are bound to develop. We should not be surprised, therefore, that con- sensus in translation studies disappeared in the 1990s. However, that has been followed by lively diversification that continues today around the world. During the 1980s, Ernst-August Gutt's relevance theory, the skols theory of Katharina Reiss and Hans Vermeer, and Gideon Toury's research into pseudotranslation all offered new methods for approach- ing translation, while in the 1990s the enormous interest generated by corpus-based translation enquiry as articulated by Mona Baker opened distinct lines of enquiry that continue to flourish. Indeed, after a period in which research in computer translation seemed to have foundered, the importance of the relationship between translation and the new technology has risen to prominence and shows every sign of becoming even more important in the future. Nevertheless, despite the diversity of methods and approaches, one common feature of much of the research in Translation Studies is an emphasis on cultural aspects of translation, on the contexts within which translation occurs.
