內容概要

本書是在原版Encyclopedia of Toxicology(2nd edn)的基礎上對詞條進行的分類重排。編成三卷，分別為精選卷、拓展卷與社科管理卷，更加適合國內讀者閱讀。本書涵蓋了毒理學研究的各個領域，從基礎到前沿，甚至一些尚存爭議的問題也包含其中。     本書收集了1057個條目，按英文字母順序排列，內容詳盡，信息量寬廣。書中既有毒理學的基本理論、學科體系知識的介紹，也包含有毒理學專業(yè)知識、新的進展資料、毒理學派生出的相關社會科學問題(如歷史事件、法律、條規(guī)、教育、國際和區(qū)域組織等)的信息資料。本百科全書還對近年來出現(xiàn)的毒理學新名詞首次做了比較系統(tǒng)和權威性的解釋，如鳥類生態(tài)毒理學、計算機毒理學、基準劑量、致癌效力因素、代謝組學等。很多在其他專著、教科書、工具書中查不到的毒理學或相關的信息資料，讀者都能在此百科全書中找到。本百科全書在編寫風格上也完全不同于以往出版的毒理學專著、教科書或工具書，真正做到了寬細結合、深淺恰當，適合于不同專業(yè)和層次的讀者參閱。    第二版百科全書匯集了392作者提供的1057條目錄，而第一版只包括200名作者提供的749條目錄。實際上，第一版中所有條目的內容在第二版中都得到了充實，而某些條目則完全進行了更新。在第二版中新出現(xiàn)的308個條目中，包括鳥類生態(tài)毒理學、基準劑量、殺蟲劑、計算機毒理學、致癌效力因素、代謝組學、化學事件、蒙地卡羅分析、非致死性化學武器、無脊椎動物生態(tài)毒理學、藥物濫用、癌癥化療因子和消費產品等等。許多針對特殊化學物的條目都是全新的，而書中搜錄的國際組織也得到了很大的擴展。某些條目羅列了許多著名的毒物中毒相關事件：如美國拉夫運河事件、泰晤士海灘事件、切爾諾貝利事件和三里島事件等。另外許多條目涉及毒理學知識的社會應用，如文化毒理學、環(huán)境犯罪、著名投毒者和中毒可件、古代化學生物戰(zhàn)以及美國環(huán)境運動歷史等。因此，新版的毒理學百科全書在長度、廣度、以及深度上都對毒理學的許多方面進行了更廣泛和深入的概述。
