前言

　　早想把語音知識(shí)整理出一些簡單、直接、有效的內(nèi)容來，然而由于工作的忙碌，加上慣常的懶惰和對(duì)大量瑣碎工作的恐懼，一直未能實(shí)現(xiàn)。這次有幸在李莘老師的帶領(lǐng)下，新東方聽力口語部語音項(xiàng)目組的各位兄弟姐妹們傾力合作，我們從繁復(fù)的語音知識(shí)體系中精選了對(duì)學(xué)生最為實(shí)用、有效的內(nèi)容，把薈萃了多年教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)的材料整理成書，希望能夠幫助廣大英語愛好者切實(shí)地提高語音水平和應(yīng)用能力?！　”緯鴥?nèi)容相對(duì)緊湊，知識(shí)體系比較全，練習(xí)內(nèi)容精練，適合想通過一定練習(xí)掌握基礎(chǔ)美語發(fā)音的同學(xué)?！　≡诳谡Z教學(xué)越來越受重視的今天，語音的學(xué)習(xí)也變得日益重要起來。語音基礎(chǔ)的好壞，直接關(guān)系到聽說練習(xí)的各個(gè)層面。然而，大多數(shù)聽力、口語剛剛?cè)腴T的朋友并沒有掌握迅速有效的語音學(xué)習(xí)方法，結(jié)果在聽說練習(xí)過程中走了不少彎路。筆者在多年語音教學(xué)的基礎(chǔ)上，結(jié)合了大量的教學(xué)經(jīng)驗(yàn)，把一些實(shí)用、有效的語音知識(shí)總結(jié)出來，去除了一些沒必要掌握的理論性知識(shí)，努力使大家在練習(xí)過程中能夠直接、迅速、有效地提高發(fā)音水平，克服聽力障礙?！　≌Z音的掌握，實(shí)際上需要學(xué)習(xí)的知識(shí)量并不大，對(duì)詞匯量更沒有什么特殊要求，只要有初中，甚至初一的英語基礎(chǔ)，就可以對(duì)發(fā)音知識(shí)進(jìn)行比較系統(tǒng)全面的總結(jié)。聽說能力提高的過程中，語音是首當(dāng)其沖要掌握的，也是最簡單、最基礎(chǔ)的。但要認(rèn)識(shí)到，我們學(xué)語音，可不是學(xué)幾個(gè)國際音標(biāo)就行的，語音知識(shí)體系中包括的內(nèi)容有：音素的發(fā)音（包括元音和輔音）、重音（包括單詞、短語和句子）、語調(diào)、連讀、縮讀和弱讀等等。這些部分所涉及的內(nèi)容既相對(duì)獨(dú)立又有一定的關(guān)聯(lián)，因此必須系統(tǒng)掌握、綜合運(yùn)用才行。其中，音素發(fā)音要領(lǐng)的掌握主要涉及聽力分辨能力的培養(yǎng)，發(fā)音感覺的熟悉及相關(guān)必要的技巧解析；重音涉及對(duì)英語語言節(jié)奏由淺入深的理解，從單詞慢慢過渡到短語和句子，重音技巧和規(guī)則的掌握，直接涉及對(duì)英語語言節(jié)奏感的培養(yǎng)和對(duì)英語語調(diào)的最終熟練掌握和運(yùn)用；連讀、縮讀和弱讀是聽力中最讓人頭痛的問題，這些知識(shí)的理解、感覺、積累和運(yùn)用，是需要較長時(shí)間的練習(xí)和琢磨的。練習(xí)中不要只停留在音的變化現(xiàn)象的表層，一定要深入到精確的聽力分辨能力的培養(yǎng)和加快聽力反應(yīng)速度的練習(xí)中去，才能最終吃透、理解并運(yùn)用。

作者簡介

　　李莘，現(xiàn)任新東方聽力口語部主任。于2006年帶領(lǐng)團(tuán)隊(duì)創(chuàng)立了“iEnglish”英語學(xué)習(xí)品牌。精通英語、西班牙語等四種語言。曾任中國國際廣播電臺(tái)西班牙語播音員。拉美最大美語培訓(xùn)中心Cerltro Cclombo Americano的美語老師。曾去過哥倫比亞、委內(nèi)瑞拉、巴拿馬、沙特阿拉伯、阿聯(lián)酋、埃及、蘇丹、肯尼亞、巴林、美國、德國、英國、挪威、捷克、奧地利等國家進(jìn)行工作和交流。ASOCOPI（Asociacion Colornbiaila del Profesordel Ingles）成員?！　≮w東坡,1999年畢業(yè)于北京新東方學(xué)校實(shí)用英語學(xué)院，并就業(yè)于北京新東方學(xué)?；A(chǔ)英語部聽力口語項(xiàng)目組至今。主講電影聽說、語音、美國口語、英語900句、聽說速成聽力、TSE、托?；A(chǔ)聽力、托福聽力強(qiáng)化等課程。先后擔(dān)任語音、聽說速成等項(xiàng)目負(fù)責(zé)人，參與編寫了“4+1”英語學(xué)習(xí)法系列教材。2002年12月出版《4+1語音》一書。2002、2003、2004年連續(xù)三年被評(píng)為北京新東方學(xué)校優(yōu)秀教師。2003年主持編寫了聽說讀寫項(xiàng)目初級(jí)班語音教材。2006年榮獲新東方教育集團(tuán)優(yōu)秀教師稱號(hào)。

　　Broadcast: May 5, 2003　　This is the VOA Special English Development Report.　　Each year more than two-million people die from diseases caused by drinking dirtywater. That is the estimate of the World Health Organization. Dirty water is a leading killer indeveloping countries. Most of the victims are children.　　Diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, and infectious hepatitis are all spread through unclean water bybacteria or viruses. Malaria, river blindness and dengue fever are spread by insects that lay theireggs in drinking water or live around water resources.　　There are systems designed to make dirty water safe to drink. A group called Pottersfor Peace has developed a low-cost system for use by families. Potters for Peace is a non-governmental organization based in the United States and active in Central America. The systemthis group developed is called the Ceramic Water Purifier.　　The purifier is a round container with a filter inside made of porous clay. Clay is hardearth. A process called firing strengthens it with intense heatl Porous means it still lets waterflow through. But the clay acts as a filter. It traps harmful organisms. Also, the clay filter ispainted with a substance called colloidal silver. Colloidal silver kills bacteria. It is used in waterpurification systems in many aircraft.　　The purifier sits inside a larger container that catches and stores water as it flows throughthe filter. This larger container also protects the purifier from damage. The filter is supposedto be cleaned about once a month to make sure water is still able to flow through. Potters forPeace suggests that users replace the filter after a year. Ceramic water purifiers are being used indeveloping countries around the world. They first became popular in Ecuador and Guatemala.Today they are being used throughout Central and South America, and in parts of Africa and Asia.　　Ceramic water purifiers can help communities meet their water needs. But Potters for Peacesays they can also help communities earn money.
