范純海等編著的《新起點大學英語聽說教程》(starting Anew：cEc
Listeningand
Speaking)是根據(jù)2007年7月教育部高等教育司頒布的《大學英語課程教學要求》為普通高等學校學生進行大學英語聽說訓練而設計編寫的教材。《大學英語課程教學要求》指出大學英語的教學目標是培養(yǎng)學生的英語綜合應用能力，特別是聽說能力，使他們在今后學習、工作和社會交往中能用英語有效地進行交際。該教材遵循以學生發(fā)展為本的人本主義教育觀，力求引導學生充分運用他們的理解能力和邏輯思維能力，加強有意義學習和主動發(fā)現(xiàn)語言規(guī)律的探索式學習。教材體現(xiàn)了英語語言教學法和語言學研究的最新成果，能切實滿足學生提高英語聽說能力的迫切需要。
